Support

Something off? Write to a person.

There is no ticket portal, no chatbot and no help-desk vendor sitting between you and an answer — that would mean handing your message to a third party, which is the one thing this app is built not to do.

Email support

The fastest route is straight from inside the app: Settings → Contact support. It opens your own Mail app with a message already written, including your iOS version and app build — nothing about your cards.

  • Your message never leaves that mailbox.

To get a real answer in one round trip

Float questions are almost always arithmetic questions, and arithmetic is checkable. Send these four things and the reply can actually resolve it:

  1. The card, as the app names it — issuer, card name, last four. For example, Chase · Sapphire Preferred ··4417.
  2. The two dates you entered — the statement closing day and the payment due day.
  3. The number the app showed, and the number you expected.
  4. A screenshot, if a screen looks wrong rather than a number.

Never send a full card number, a CVV, a PIN or a bank login — not to us, not to anyone. The app has no field for them and support has no use for them.

Common questions

Answers before you write

Most messages come down to one of these eight.

The float number looks wrong for one of my cards.

Float is counted from the day you buy to the day the statement carrying that purchase is due. It is not "days until my next payment", which is the number most people have in their head.

Two things produce nearly every mismatch. First, a purchase made on the closing day usually lands on the statement that just closed, not the next one — so it gets the short float, not the long one. Second, the closing day and the due day have to be the ones your issuer actually uses; if you typed the day you happen to pay rather than the printed due date, every number downstream shifts.

Open the card, check the two dates against your paper statement, and correct them there. The statement always wins.

Does the app connect to my bank?

No, and it never will. There is no login, no linked account, no aggregator and no read-only bank connection. You type a handful of facts off your statement — issuer, card name, last four digits, closing day, due day — and the arithmetic runs on your phone.

That is also why nothing syncs automatically: the app has no way to know your bank changed a date. When a date changes, you change it.

How do I add or edit a card?

Cards → + to add. Tap any card to edit it.

Pick your card from the built-in catalog and the static facts — network, reward type, annual fee — fill themselves in. Anything not in the catalog you can type by hand. The only things you supply either way are the last four digits and the two dates.

My cards did not appear on my other device.

Sync runs through your own iCloud account, not through any server of ours — so the usual three checks apply:

  • Both devices signed in to the same Apple Account.
  • Settings → Apple Account → iCloud → iCloud Drive switched on.
  • SwipeThisCard allowed under that same iCloud list.

A first sync after a fresh install can take a few minutes and needs the app open and the device on Wi-Fi. If it still has not arrived after that, write in — that one is worth looking at.

What happens to my cards if I stop paying?

Nothing is deleted. Ever. Your cards stay exactly where they are.

The free tier shows two cards, so if you were holding more than two, the extras become read-only until you subscribe again — still there, still yours, still on your device and in your iCloud. Resubscribe and they are live again the moment the purchase clears.

I want a refund.

Refunds go through Apple, not through us — every purchase is an App Store purchase and we never see your payment details. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com, or from Settings → your name → Media & Purchases → Purchase History on your iPhone.

To cancel a subscription: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. It keeps working until the period you already paid for runs out.

Can you see my cards, or recover them if I lose my phone?

No to both, and the second is the price of the first. We hold no copy of your data because there is no server holding anything — so there is nothing for us to look up, hand over, or lose.

Your backup is your own iCloud. Sign in to the same Apple Account on a new device, install the app, and your cards come back from it.

A card's details in the catalog are out of date.

Worth telling us — send the card name and what changed, and it goes into the next catalog update.

In the meantime you can simply edit the card on your device; anything you type by hand overrides the catalog and stays that way.

Privacy

Writing to support does not change what we know about you.

The app composes the message; your own Mail app sends it. Nothing is transmitted by SwipeThisCard itself, and the message carries only your iOS version and the app build — never a card, never a date, never a balance.

After that it is an ordinary email in an ordinary inbox, read by a person and kept only as long as the conversation needs it. The full policy is on the privacy page.
